Call for submissions

We're looking for curious people, storytellers, artists, journalists, writers, poets, anyone with something interesting to say about climate, community, emotions, resilience, dialogue, vulnerability, joy, or collective organizing.

We accept pitches for not-yet-started pieces, as well as completed pieces.
We accept pieces that have been previously published. If your piece is accepted, you are also allowed to publish your piece elsewhere.

Some examples of formats (if you need inspiration!)

• opinion pieces

• personal essays

• creative non-fiction and fiction (think: radical imagination)

• poetry

• visual with artist statement: photography, art

We are particularly interested in pieces that have a strong personal voice. We strongly encourage pieces from marginalized individuals, as well as pieces from those not originally with a creative background. We welcome you to self-identify through your submission at your own comfort level.

We welcome pieces that lean into controversy, discomfort, and dialogue. We will not accept pieces that promote violence or division in any form.

Compensation

From time to time, we are able to offer honoraria to our contributors, until funding is exhausted. Honoraria is paid in CAD by e-interac transfer.
